I grew up moving between languages, cultures, and expectations. Swedish at home, English at school, German and Scandinavian Studies at UCL, then Fine Art Painting at Wimbledon School of Art. It never felt like a collection of separate lives. It felt like one long education in how people understand things.

Painting gave me a particular eye for composition, colour, and form. Languages gave me patience with nuance. The early internet gave me a medium where those things could become useful for businesses, organisations, and people trying to be understood.

The turns that shaped how I work.

  1. 1973

    Arrived in England.

No English, then a classroom two weeks later. That early lesson in listening and adaptation still matters.

  2. 1992

    Graduated in Fine Art Painting.

Art school trained the eye: colour, proportion, tension, balance, and the feeling of whether something is alive or dead on the page.

  3. 1997

    Built the first real website.

It was for my father's hotel in the south of France. People found it from all over the world, and the business changed.

  4. Now

Still looking after what I make.

The work now spans design, build, brand, photography, search, hosting, maintenance, and calm technical judgement.

How I work

The relationship matters more than the handover.

Start with a conversation.

Not a form and not a sales funnel. A proper conversation about what you are trying to do, who you need to reach, and what is actually worth building.

Keep the whole picture connected.

Design, technology, content, search, hosting, and maintenance affect each other. Treating them separately is where projects drift.

Stay responsible after launch.

I do not build websites and disappear. I look after what I have built, keep an eye on things, and help when the organisation changes.

What clients say

"Magnus and I worked together on the central project team running the Peoples Health Alliance and The Peoples Alliance CIC from 2022 until I left the project team in February 2025. The PHA and PA CIC were people-led community-based organic organisations set up to support people wanting to take control of their own health through education, nature and scientific research. They are now established in many countries around the world. Magnus worked on the websites and IT infrastructure and was integral to the success of the organisation."
